Keep your landline number when you switch to online calls
Enjoy Voneus digital calling with modern features—and keep your number too! Plan ahead for porting and have a mobile handy for emergencies during outages.
26th September 2024There’s so much to gain and nothing to lose when you switch your home phone to online calling.
But for many people, it’s being able to hang on to your old landline number that makes all the difference.
Digital calling from Voneus uses the internet to make telephone calls and comes with loads of extra features that your outdated landline just can’t support – including crystal clear sound, 3-way calling and call forwarding to your mobile.
But best of all you get to keep the same telephone number.
This is a process known as number porting and involves moving your existing number from your current provider over to your new service.
It’s easy to do, but there are a couple of really important steps:
You must tell us that you want to keep your phone number when you place your order
Make sure you hang on to your existing landline service until the porting process is complete
A request to port your number will NOT be made until your broadband service has been activated, and this could take up to 10 days – so we suggest that you plan ahead.
Important information
Your new digital phone service VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) uses the internet to make phone calls. But that means if there is a loss of internet connection, or a power cut, you won’t be able to make calls – not even 999 calls.
So in the event of network disruption or a power cut it’s important to make sure you have an alternative means of contacting emergency services, such as a mobile phone.
