Bloomin’ marvellous artwork for Bere Alston fibre cabs
Voneus supports Bere Alston in Bloom by commissioning vibrant artwork for fibre cabinets, enhancing the village’s charm ahead of Britain in Bloom.
26th September 2024Rural broadband specialists Voneus was thrilled to support Bere Alston in Bloom in its efforts to keep the village looking beautiful by commissioning artwork to spruce up its fibre cabinets.
Holly Leaf Paintings was asked to create three large paintings for the cabs, in readiness for a visit by Britain in Bloom judges.
Voneus is bringing ultrafast fibre broadband to the village and as part of its community engagement efforts was happy to help the Bere Alston in Bloom team which is made up of volunteers. The floral village is a previous gold and platinum winner in the nationwide competition.
On her Facebook page, the artist behind Holly Leaf Paintings, Sally Dunne, said: “I’ve been busy with an interesting project painting three large slates for Bere Alston in Bloom.
“Two of them measure 20 x 15 and the other one measures 10 x 20 so they are much larger than any slate I’ve painted before. They are going to the printers today to be scanned and made into big stickers which will then brighten up the dark green Voneus boxes in the village – Voneus is kindly sponsoring Bere Alston in Bloom.
“Thank you Voneus, it was a pleasure to paint them for your cabinets and the village.”
Jeanette Englefield, Chairman of Bere Alston in Bloom, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of Voneus, it will make a huge difference to our intended projects. With the RHS celebrating its 60th year all of the village and our hardworking volunteers are committed to making our portfolio for this year’s competition the best yet.”
And Head of Build at Voneus, Darren Gorman, said: “It’s not often we get the opportunity to be creative with our equipment, so I’m delighted that the local community are providing the inspiration to decorate our cabinet. We don’t want to let the village down and we’re so thrilled to be a part of Bere in Bloom this year.”
The results of Britain in Bloom are due in October.
As part of its community commitment, Voneus is also supporting Bere Alston FC with a donation towards its fund to buy a new pitch mower.
